I was born in 1959 and lived in Miles Buildings, went to Christchurch School along with my sister Jackie. My parents were John and Jo Wall, my grandparents were Frank and Beat Pearce. My nan worked for many years in the Co-op. On a Saturday I would go to Church St and get a hot dog and an apple fritter. I have such happy memories of living there. On Sunday for tea we would have cocktails and welks from the horse and cart man. The Salvation Army played outside my window every Sunday morning. I could go on for ever.

As the owner of the Mary Novelty Stores, the Toy and Pram shop pictured behind the Salvation Army singers I wIll remember the many times they came down and entertained everyone, when they finished we would become busier than usual because all the children nagged to go to the Toy shop.
